Hill 689 by WaargH Hill 689 by WaargH
The bodies of US marines lie half buried on Hill 689, west of Khe Sanh, in 1968. The seige of Khe Sanh was one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the war. C3P0 is left among the dead.

Charcoal, conte and acrylics on canvas, around a3 size. Part of a series of vietnam/starwars works....i just havent taken pics of any of the others...and the majority of them arent done yet.

As a Marine who fought on Hill 689 during the time this photo is claimed to have been taken and having to look at how a photo of one of my dead brothers has been disrespected in this way and to read some of these idiotic comments angers me beyond words. Pull this off this site. Start becoming an adult today by undoing your disgraceful dead now. One day I hope you grow up and understand how disgraceful and dishonorable you've been here; I hope it results in you doing something or protecting something of value for someone other than yourself.

I can imagine C3PO saying "Oh dear" as he walk amongst the dead.

What's behind the concept of mixing fact with fiction, especially with delicate subjects about the war?

The contrast of the reality of war, and the unreality we create.
